Bloops and Blunders of a New Mum

My friend related to me about how he and wife went out with baby for the first time. They just took baby and left the house thinking it was like the old days with just the two of them. They had forgotten that baby required a bag when going out...... a bag full of diapers, bottles, wipes, clothing, etc etc etc. That was their first blunder as a new parent.

My first blunder was not dressing baby up. It was baby's first paeditrician visit. When hubby and I reached the clinic it was packed. There were lots of newborns there too since it was a paeditrician at a hospital clinic. We looked around and saw all the little babies all nicely bundled up in comfy blankets wearing cute little booties and mittens and hats. Then we looked at our baby.

She looked like a hero in her short sleeved pantless body suit. Haha. The clinic was very cold and our poor baby was not warmly covered up like the rest of the babies. We had not thought of wearing more clothes for her! No mittens or booties or hat and worse still, not even sleeves or pants!

What was your first blunder as a new mum or dad? Care to share?

  1. haha..i cant really remember. But I don't have the same experience as you and ur friend. haha.

  2. If you can't remember, that means don't have loh. :)

  3. I remember as a first blunder,we were very excited and end up bringing a big bag out.:)LOL..

  4. Er... hardly recalled. But, I really don't bring anything around except my baby and a set of pants, shirt and 2 pieces of nappy before her 8 months. I felt rather convenience while breastfeeding her. :)

Anyway, here is something for you, my dear...

  5. sweetiepie,
At least you brought the bag. Haha.

Yes, I agree with you on the breastfeeding part makes it conveninient part. I hardly carried anything around most of the time.

  6. I went with baby to the pead during the confinement month without any bag too. Baby pooed into the diaper she had on and it leaked at the back, soiling her clothes. Had a good lecture from the pead :p

  7. Hahaha. I remember those early days when they seem to poo all the time. My first would poo every few minutes and I had to stop breastfeeding 2-3 times during a feed to change her. In the end the paed told me to just wait till the feed was over before changing. The second was different though. He would poo only every 2-3 days making me very worried and when it came the poo was really explosive. Lol!
