A Mother and Daughter has a special relationship for life. My daughter and I fight over a lot of issues but we love each other dearly. She would pout and get angry at me one moment and hug and smile at me the next. That is the complex relationship that we both enjoy.

One of the fun things we do together as a mother and daughter is to wear matching outfits. I think they are fun and in a way, matching clothing act as a special bond between mother and daughter. At 11, my daughter is still young enough to want to wear matching outfits with me. So, I'm taking this opportunity to before she grows up soon and say "Oh, mom, that's so tacky!"

I really like matching clothing for me and my girl however a matching set of pyjamas for the entire family can be really fun too. We wouldn't wear matching clothing for going out mainly because the man wouldn't want to wear them but pyjamas are fine with him.

Would You Dress Your Girl In A Mini Me Outfit?

Tips For Dressing In Similar Clothes

When It Comes To Dressing yourself and your girl in similar clothes, I think it would be safer to avoid those mini-me outfits.

Mini-me outfits are outfits that look like mom's with mini heels and all.

I really prefer matching outfits that are more neutral like pyjamas or sweat pants and matching shirt or a summer dress. I think mini-me outfits that look like adult's clothes just don't look right on little ones.

However, that is just my opinion. To me, there is no right or wrong in fashion. If you want to dress alike by letting your daughter wear a miniature outfit like yours, you can go right on ahead but do go easy on heels, glitter or too much accessorizing.

What If You Can't Find Matching Clothes?

If you cannot find clothing that come in a pair for mother and daughter, you can still dress alike by buying them separately.

You can easily find clothes that match by choosing evergreen patterns like stripes, polka dots, monochrome colors or matching colors.

The Complex Relationship Between Mother And Daughter

Mothers And Daughters Have A Love Hate Relationship

Sometimes I envy the relationship between my daughter and her father. They have an easy going relationship. Sometimes I think that opposites really do attract. Mothers seem to get along better with sons while fathers get along very well with their daughters.

Sometimes, I think my daughter goes out of her way to annoy me. She never behaves that way with anyone else but me.

Complex though our relationship may be, I love my daughter very much. She is a very inquisitive and intelligent child. She may drive me crazy with her questions but she also says the sweetest things at time.

Do you have a daughter? What is your relationship like with your daughter? Is it complex or simple?

A Poem Is An Inspirational Gift For Mom To Lift Up Her Mood

Mums do get tired from the daily grind every now and then. A little inspiration in the form of Inspirational Books for Mom, a poem for mum along with jewelry with quotes for mums or Relaxing Songs For Mom will lift mum up from her day to day weariness.
I particularly like this "Mom" A Gift For A Mother Poem With Frame for Mothers. The Poem reads...
Mom, for all the times that I forgot to thank-you
For the special, little things you do
For all the words that sometimes go unspoken
I need to say , I love you, Mom, I do
I love you for the way you stop and listen
And for your kind support throughout the years
For teaching me the meaning of compassion
And sharing in my triumphs and my tears
And, if at times, I may have seemed ungrateful
I want to say, I truly hope to see
That nothing you have done has been forgotten
And day by day you just mean more to me
Sometimes moms need to be told "I Love You". It's so simple, yet it means so much to mum. Have you told your mom you love her today?
Touching poems with frames not only tell mom you love her, it is also a nice decoration for the home and reminds her of your love every time she sees it. don't you agree?

Mothers Taking Care Of Themselves

Quote For Mothers

Mothers, do you take care of yourselves? I do. I take care of myself by spending time on me and my own personal development.

First there was me.... before I became a mother.

I started blogging on my Parenting blog called Parenting Times, 11 years ago in 2004 because I had breastfeeding problems and I wanted to reach out to other mothers who were in the same position as me, other SAHMs. Eventually, that Parenting Blog became a blog for my children to record the funny moments with them, the time we spent doing crafts together etc. As they grew, the blog evolved to include educational items and sites for children because I was using them for my children.
Then I wanted a voice for the Mother in me. So I started my blog for mothers and called it Mothering Times. It was the same as my Parenting Blog. At first it was to share stories about pregnancy, childbirth and bringing up babies, it moved on to toilet training, teething, sleep, looking after babies, then toddler hoods, preschoolers and now grade school children.
But there was nothing for me, personally. I had to have a voice for myself. That was how my Personal Blog Mumsgather.com was born.
I believe that whether you are a SAHM (Stay at Home Mom), a WAHM (Work at Home Mom), a FTWM (Full Time Working Mom), you need to remember to take care of yourself first before you can take care of your family. You must remember to take care of yourself physically and mentally. My personal blog is my place to take care of me mentally. I find writing extremely therapeutic. So I spend several hours each day focusing on me.
How do you take care of yourself?
If you are a SAHM
